Visit to Fez

We will spend this day in the old part of the city (Medina), accompanied by a local guide who will introduce us to the many unique monuments of Morocco’s first imperial city (Fez). Our visit begins at the gates of the Royal Palace, and as we walk through the labyrinthine streets of Fez, we will visit the Jewish Quarter and the oldest and most famous university in the region, Al-Qarawiyyin.

We will also see the famous leather tanneries, where colors and smells flood our senses. During the day, you will have time to explore the city’s traditional market and experience the lifestyle of the people in the Medina. Before returning to the hotel, our driver will take us to a panoramic viewpoint over the Medina so you can take unforgettable memories and photos home.

Fez – Merzouga – Camel ride in the Erg Chebbi Dunes and overnight camping

After breakfast, we will travel to Merzouga via Ifrane, a beautiful European-style mountain town in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, Midelt, Errachidia, and Erfoud. We will stop in a cedar forest where you may observe Barbary macaques in their natural habitat, as well as the volcanic rocks of the Middle Atlas peaks.

We will continue our journey towards Erfoud through the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass and the Ziz Valley, where the arid landscape becomes more evident as we approach the desert. Soon we will reach the highest sand dunes in North Africa, the Erg Chebbi Dunes, approximately 20 km long and 5 km wide.

In this unique and diverse environment near the village of Merzouga, we will begin our camel adventure towards a Berber camp in the middle of the dunes. In the evening, we will have dinner and enjoy the incomparable sounds of Berber drums around the campfire. Those who wish may spend the night in the tent; those who prefer can return to the hotel by camel.

Merzouga: culture and tradition

We will wake up at the camp to an unforgettable sunrise. After breakfast with the locals at the camp, the camels will take us back to our driver, who will guide us through the Erg Chebbi Dunes and take us to nearby nomadic camps.

During the day, we will have the opportunity to try Berber pizza and listen to Gnaoua music in the village of Khamlia. In the afternoon, we will visit the large traditional market in the town of Rissani, which supplies more than 365 villages in the Tafilalet region.

We will return to the Erg Chebbi Dunes to enjoy the beauty of the sunset from the top of the highest dune in North Africa. We will spend the night having dinner at the hotel or riad.

Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Ouarzazate

We will wake up before sunrise to climb the dunes and enjoy and photograph this incomparable moment. After returning to the camp, we will have breakfast before continuing our journey to Ouarzazate, passing through the impressive Todra Gorges, with cliffs up to 525 meters high and only 10 meters wide.

Here we will have lunch before continuing towards the Skoura Valley and finally reaching the hotel in Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night.

Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After a delicious breakfast, and before continuing our journey back to Marrakech across the High Atlas Mountains, we will visit the oldest and most famous kasbah in Ouarzazate, its famous film studios, and the Fint Oasis.

We will have lunch in a local restaurant and continue towards Marrakech through the majestic High Atlas peaks (2,260 m), where you will have many opportunities to take photos of the stunning panoramic views.

Marrakech City Tour

Our visit to the city of Marrakech begins after breakfast. Throughout the day, we will ensure you have the opportunity to see many of the city’s historical and cultural landmarks, including the iconic Koutoubia Mosque (an inspiration for other emblematic buildings such as the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat), the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, and the Majorelle Gardens.

We will enjoy lunch in a restaurant near the famous main square of the Medina, Jemaa el-Fna, and in the afternoon you will have free time to stroll through the traditional market (souks) and other points of interest in the city.

Marrakech – Return home

We will transfer you to Marrakech Menara Airport so you can return home with countless Moroccan adventures to share!
